Hoisting, Rigging and Signaling
HOISTING, RIGGING AND SIGNALING SAFETY IN CONSTRUCTION
AMSC Inc., is now offering a Hoisting, Rigging and Signaling course to assist employers in meeting their “due diligence” obligations as it relates to providing training, instruction and education for the health and safety of workers. This course will benefit workers and supervisors by providing the fundamental knowledge and principles related to safe rigging, hoisting, and crane signaling.
Section 106 of Ontario’s Health & Safety Regulations for Construction projects states that a person who signals shall be a competent and shall not perform other work while acting as a signaler. The regulation is quite extensive and requires employers under Section 106 (1.5) to ensure a signaler receives adequate oral training and written instructions in a language he/she understands. A worker who rigs loads for hoisting should be competent to do so. Riggers in general need to be knowledgeable in safe rigging configurations and equipment inspection.
Instruction in the basics of Hoisting, Rigging & Signaling is provided at a location of your preference and includes all study material, with two videos to support training on signals and slings. Includes digital projection delivery with discussions of case scenarios of operations gone wrong in roofing and the hazards associated with the work. Our years of experience in evaluating hoisting, rigging and signaling setup and safe work practices enhances this program.
