ELECTRICAL SAFETY AWARENESS – FOR CONSTRUCTION & INDUSTRIAL SETTINGS

Under Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety Act, employers have a general duty to provide workers with the information, instruction and supervision necessary to protect their health and safety. To this duty, is the added responsibility of ensuring that workers receive general and specific instruction and training on hazards existent in the scope of their work and how to recognize and set controls for their health and safety. Electrical safety awareness training is an important part of a company’s training effort to inform workers of hazards that exists at the workplace. Injuries from electrical contact and the associated fines laid against employers are very serious.

• Personal Protection Equipment for Arc Flash/Blast risks

• Arc Flash boundaries– limited, restricted, prohibited

• Safe use and condition of electrical power tools

• Ground Fault Circuit breaker protection

• Video viewing – “Arc Flash – Live to Tell”
