FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING – Use & Safety

Under Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations 52, employers have a general duty to provide Fire Extinguishing Equipment Instruction and training to workers who may be required to use fire extinguishing equipment to fight fires.

Section 52 (1.1) of Ontario’s safety regulations for Construction Projects states: 

“Every worker who may be required to use fire extinguishing equipment shall be trained in its use.”
